Special thanks to Suzanna Banister :D

Oh yeah…this is a real craig’s list ad. An actual person posted this, and even worse…it prolly got some responses! Gotta love this world :)
I posted the screen shot so that you can see that it’s actually on craig’s list…I know the SS is tiny, I can read it, but some people might not be able to. So here goes:
Astronaut needed for experimental flight to Titan. I have been working on this project now for near 40 years and am afraid I’m no longer fit enough to go. My secret space craft is the result of my professional experience and imagination while serving the U.S. military in advanced aeronautics as a scientist. The craft harnesses a revolutionary propulsion system and its fuselage is fabricated with the most advanced material. While considerably safe, I am certain you will make it safely to Titan, but there will not be enough fuel to get home. This is for someone unique hat has always wanted to see the universe first-hand and has perhaps a terminal view on life here at home. Here’s your shot at romantic history.
Must be:
-          Physically fit
-          Mentally sound
-          Over the age of 18
-          A dreamer
-          A believer
-          Not afraid of heights
-          Not afraid of extreme conditions such as speed, pressure, heat, etc.
-          Brave
-          No taller than 5’10” and relatively slim
-          Good eye-sight and hearing
-          Manual dexterity (although the craft is largely cpu controlled)
-          OK in cramped conditions for long periods of time.
So…those of you who want $25k for a job that will kill you, line up!!

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a
butterfly’s erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the
fading night?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?

When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You’d better slow down
Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Ever told your child,
We’ll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time
To call and say, “Hi.”

You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.
The music won’t last.

When you run
so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun

of getting there.

When you worry and hurry
through your day,

It is like an unopened gift….
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower

Hear the music
Before the song is over.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.

Learn something new everyday...

I was shocked to find out some new information today. It seems there are some things that you’re NOT supposed to put in the paper shredder. There are pictures that show all the things that you’re not supposed to shred: ties, hair, your hand and babies…

…this is really gonna put a damber on my Saturday nights =\

POSTPONED....

…until an as yet undertermined date.

I feel like this sometimes….

24...

Most people see ‘24’ and think of the TV show, but no, as of this past Saturday that’s my AGE. I’m 24! >.< You know, at 23 you can still say you’re in your early 20s and get away with it. At 24 you’re forced to say mid-20s. I feel icky just thinking about it! How did I get so old?!?

I swear it was just last week that I turned 21. No lie. I think that many women choose the age at which they stop aging, but my age chose me. I actually have to take a second and think about it. When I first turned 22 someone asked me if I was 22, and I corrected them and said I was 21. I was dead serious, too. I didn’t realize that they were right and I was wrong until I got home later that night. In my head, I’ll be forever 21….That’s kinda catchy “Forever 21” they should dedicate a store to me or something and give it that name. :P

Well, despite the fact that my head it screws with my head, there’s a perk to having turned 21 for the 4th time. The twenty-first year is a fun one to celebrate! And each one is different than the last. This year we went to ANGUS BARN! In the 6 or so years I’ve lived in the state, I’ve never been to Angus Barn…until Oct 3rd…it was SO awesome! Why didn’t I go there sooner? Honestly, how many people do you know who like steak as much as I do?

Sigh…it was soooo magical…

mmm….beef……
